The Unknown is a personal and artistic exploration of stepping beyond the familiar. Through photography, I observe how unfamiliar places influence growth, emotion, and creativity.

Embracing the unknown

Solo travels across Oceania and North America. Living in different cities around the world, the unknown has always felt like home. I needed the change. These journeys reignited my creativity and helped me understand myself more deeply. Back in the Netherlands, I began searching for that same sense of adventure through experimentation in art. This led to my ongoing visual diaries: layered, intuitive works.

I translate my emotions and thoughts of a place or moment into visual form- sometimes abstract, sometimes concrete. A recurring motif is red: a color I’ve researched deeply (2022). It holds many meanings. I leave space for others to find their own.
